Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,

Last Friday we had the pleasure of celebrating the feast day of St Anthony. In the  context of the ‘new norms’ that we are expected to live by, we were still able to ’demonstrate the rich traditions of our faith through prayer, liturgy and social interaction, which contribute to the Church's Mission of evangelisation’. This statement is the first point from our school’s mission statement and highlights for us the importance of coming together in worship and celebration in order to provide for our students and the wider community, an awareness of who we truly are as a Catholic community. Throughout the day I reflected on where we would be without technology in the new world we live in. Our liturgy was celebrated by each grade in their classrooms using a pre-recorded iMovie, followed by a scavenger hunt where students were using their iPads to scan QR Codes to solve riddles and complete questionnaires about the life of St Anthony.

I would like to acknowledge the prayerfulness and reverence of the students during our liturgies and the dedication of our staff, led by our Religious Education Coordinators, Mrs Anne Cordingley and Mrs Stephanie Brown. We also appreciate the wonderful generosity of the P&F who provided the seedling plant and cookie as a special gift to all students. The whole day was full of joy and happiness and came at the right time after all that we have had to deal with in the first half of the year.

On COMPASS today you will see an update from both the Director of Schools, Mr Peter Hill and myself regarding the review of restrictions placed on schools by the NSW Government. As we enter the final three weeks of Term Two and continue to remain in Phase 3 of our Learning Continuity Transition Plan it is important that we all keep vigilant to the protocols and procedures that keep us safe and healthy. I would like to express my gratitude to how parents have respected the protocols we have placed around before school and after school pick up procedures. Your support is very much appreciated.

Please continue to stay safe and healthy.

Take Care

Mr Justin Devlin
