Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,

Welcome Back to Term Four!

Term Four is always a time of excitement, filled with a range of experiences and opportunities that cater to the diverse needs of our school community. We are delighted to offer many enriching extra-curricular activities, with school camps being among the most memorable highlights for our students.

Today, our Year 5 students are enjoying their camp at Wedderburn, staying overnight and returning tomorrow. The experience provides a wonderful opportunity for them to represent St Anthony’s with pride while showing resilience and persistence through activities such as archery, the giant swing, rock climbing, and swimming. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated staff who generously give their time and energy to organise and attend these camps — their commitment ensures our students can create these lasting memories.

Another important initiative is the Transition to Kinder program for our 2026 Kindergarten cohort. The program offers significant benefits for children, families, and the wider school community. For our students, it helps ease the transition to school by fostering familiarity with the environment, building early friendships, and developing confidence and positive learning habits. Families benefit through opportunities to connect with staff, gain insights into school routines, and establish supportive partnerships that promote their child’s wellbeing and success. Importantly, the program reflects St Anthony’s commitment to nurturing each child in a caring, faith-filled environment while strengthening the sense of community that underpins our school culture.

An important part of this preparation is the organisation of class groupings for the upcoming school year. Last week, families received correspondence outlining the process and protocols for parents and caregivers to share any relevant information that will assist in forming class groupings for 2025. This process is undertaken with great care and consideration to ensure balanced classes that support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students. Teachers and leaders work collaboratively, drawing on their knowledge of each child’s learning needs, friendships, and wellbeing to create environments where every student can thrive. While it is not possible to accommodate all requests, the focus remains on establishing positive and supportive learning communities that reflect our school’s values and commitment to every child’s growth and success.

We look forward to a term filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the life of our school community.

Take Care

Mr Justin Devlin
