Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,

A warm welcome back to the start of Term Three. I hope the mid-year pupil vacation break enabled all members of our St Anthony’s community the time to rest and spend quality family time.

On return to school last week we celebrated Naidoc Week, which took place nationally during the student vacation period. As a school community, we came together to celebrate the richness and diversity of Aboriginal culture and First Nations people last Wednesday at our whole school liturgy.  Naidoc week provides an opportunity for our community to come together to recognise and celebrate the rich traditions and culture that our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and those of the future contribute to our communities.

I would like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Newton and our students for preparing and leading the Liturgy of the Word to celebrate and recognise Naidoc Week

NAPLAN

This term, our students in Year 3 and 5 received their NAPLAN results. These results are an important part of our assessment and evaluation process, helping us understand and enhance student learning outcomes. As part of our commitment to ongoing improvement, we are reviewing these results closely. This review will help us identify strengths and areas for development within our teaching and learning strategies.

Student Attendance

A key review from the first half of the year has been the analysis of student attendance and the impact on their learning. Did you know that if students miss as little as eight days in a school term, they will have missed a year of education by the time they finish primary school? Our benchmark across the diocese is 95% attendance. You are encouraged to read through the attached factsheet to provide you with information about attendance. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Take Care
