Principal's Message
Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,
Welcome back to term four! Term four is always an exciting term full of many experiences and opportunities that cater for the diverse needs of our whole school community. Excursions and school camps are just some of the many experiences we provide for the students. It is interesting to note that when we ask students to reflect on their time at school and list the memories that really stand out, excursions are always near the top of the list.
As a school community we are so blessed that we have a dedicated staff that give so willingly of their time to coordinate these wonderful opportunities for the students. As I always say to the students that sporting gala days, excursions and especially school camps don’t just magically happen, they take time and a high level of support to organise these events. I also state to the children that engaging in these extra-curricular activities is not their right. Our students need to show the appropriate behaviours and commitment to their learning at school to be provided with the opportunity to attend these events.
Term Four is also a term of preparation. For our new kinders who today have commenced their ‘Transition to Kinder’ program, they are preparing for ‘Big School’. For our Year Six students it is a time of transition from being the ‘Big Fish in a little pond’ to being the ‘little fish in a big pond’. For our other students it is about really focusing on their learning in readiness from moving from one grade to the next. A key part of this preparation is supporting teachers in organising the class groupings for next year. Our school office systems have been preparing to move to a new financial system called Tech One. One key aspect of this rollover is that we will need to have our class groupings organised earlier in the term then normal. Therefore, you will find that I will be sending out today some correspondence to parents and care givers regarding the appropriate protocols to inform me of any key information that I need to be aware of that will help support the coordination of class groupings for next year.
Take Care
Mr Justin Devlin
