2023 Christmas Story Art Exhibit
Finding the Promised One Anika Mumberson St Anthony’s Parish Primary School Picton Year 6 In my artwork named "Finding the Promised One," I show the moment of the Magi discovering the shining star in the night sky "Visit of the Magi" (Matthew 2:9-12). Led by their hearts, they took on a journey of strength of taking the first step towards greatness. The star's brightness is even more than the moon, showing its importance. This scene shows the actions on a path as the key to unlocking impressive accomplishments. The Magi's commitment to follow the star shows the strong faith needed to chase dreams. The star's brightness represents God being with us, filling their journey with hope. As the pathway moves through the countryside, sometimes hidden, it reflects life's challenges that can confuse our way. The Magi continue, teaching us that sticking to the path leads to achievement, just like they found the newborn King. The artwork shows the idea that by being okay with not always knowing what will happen and being guided by faith, we also can fill our lives with purpose and uncover the treasures that await us. |

Angel Messenger Nicholaz Sanchez St Anthony’s Parish Primary School Picton Year 5 In my artwork capturing 'The Birth of Jesus and the Visit of the Shepherds' (Luke 2:9-14), the angel's wings take centre stage. These outstretched wings signify the Holy Spirit's movement towards the Lord, a symbol of God’s presence extending to the earth. A cross emerges, serving as a reminder of baby Jesus growing into our ultimate saviour, who sacrifices his life for our sins. Directly above the angel's head, a halo-like formation emerges, it is filled with many languages, all with the same message, "To you is born this day in the City of David." This halo shows the global impact of God's power, uniting all countries and people. Through this artwork, I aim to show the way our journey and the birth of Jesus is connected. Shown by the angel's wings, the cross and the many languages sharing the knowledge of the birth of Jesus. |
