Congratulations Harry Houghton and Emily Erwin

Interschools Snowsport Championships
The Interschools Snowsport Championships recently provided an amazing opportunity for Australian school students to engage in competitive snowsports at various levels. Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 participated as individuals or as part of a team in the nine discipline events offered.
This year, over 7,000 students representing almost 700 schools competed in the Interschools events. The competition was held at Perisher and featured schools from New South Wales, the ACT, WA and Queensland; including prestigious inner-city schools with their own snowsports programs.
We are proud to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Emily Erwin and Harry Houghton from Year 4 who participated in this year's championships. Emily showcased her skills in the Alpine Grand Slalom Ski event, finishing an impressive 38th out of 74 girls, despite the challenging conditions. Her performance was truly commendable.
Harry took part in the Snowboard events and demonstrated his talent and determination. He secured a remarkable 6th place out of 36 competitors in the Cross event, missing a medal by a mere 1.3 seconds. Additionally, he achieved an impressive 4th place out of 36 competitors in the Snowboard Grand Slalom event. Harry's exceptional performance has earned him a spot in the State Titles for both events, which will take place later in August at Perisher. We congratulate Harry on this outstanding accomplishment.
St. Anthony's Catholic Primary School takes immense pride in the efforts of Emily and Harry. Their commitment and dedication are truly commendable, and we applaud them for their remarkable achievements.
If any students are interested in participating in the Interschools Snowsport Championships in 2024, please contact the school to register an expression of interest.
Let us continue to support and nurture the talents of our students in various fields of endeavour.
