Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,

As the school term draws to a close it is fitting to reflect on our Lenten Journey together throughout the past 6 weeks. We started our Journey on Ash Wednesday by marking ourselves with a cross of ashes to remind us that all we have and do, we can attribute to God's love for us.

On Sunday we commence Holy Week. This is typically a time where we experience a sense of urgency to get things completed before the pupil vacation period. Bishop Brian throughout lent has encouraged us to …”enter into a retreat like atmosphere where we can deepen the experience and person of Jesus”.

Next week, as we head towards our Easter break, the whole school community will have the opportunity to ‘walk with Jesus’, as we participate in the events of Holy Week. Our Stations Of The Cross Liturgy next Thursday will provide the students with a deeper understanding of what Jesus experienced as he moved from the triumphant entry on Palm Sunday, to Him being put to death on Good Friday and then to the joyful experience of the resurrection on Easter Sunday. On Monday our year Six students will lead us in the ‘Journey of Jesus’. I welcome parents to attend these wonderful spiritual liturgies.

As we draw towards the end of the term may we continue to focus on the importance of prayer during this season of Lent. I have reminded our students that the power of prayer is the opportunity to enter into a conversation with God that provides us with peace and guidance. Over the coming weeks and leading into the holidays, may the sky be blue and our hearts full of love and peace.

Take Care

Mr Justin Devlin
