Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students,

Last Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent. Advent is for the Church, the beginning of a new liturgical year. In the gospel passage for last Sunday’s readings, Matthew reminds us to take a moment to prepare for the coming of Jesus. At this time of the year, when everything is moving at a rapid rate and there doesn’t appear to be enough hours in the day, life can be somewhat overwhelming. More so than ever, we need to take a moment and reflect on the joy of what this year has provided. For me my joy is provided by having the opportunity to be a part of the St Anthony’s community, a vibrant, Catholic community.

As we draw towards the end of the year we always look forward to giving and receiving constructive feedback. Feedback comes in many forms and as a school community we should always seek the opportunity for open and honest dialogue. As our school motto reminds us:

“to grow in respect and honesty”

Presently our teachers are working tirelessly to complete Semester Two reports that will be ready for access via our COMPASS parent portal next Thursday 8 December from 3:00pm onwards. Our semester two reports provide an opportunity for students and parents to reflect on their learning growth in the second half of the year and to use the areas for growth feedback as a catalyst for setting learning goals for the year to come.

At a more holistic level, we would like to take the opportunity to provide parents with a forum to give feedback regarding the school. We will be sending home a survey link via the COMPASS parent portal that will allow all parents to access and complete the on-line survey. I really look forward to informing the whole school community about the respectful and honest feedback.

Take Care

Mr Justin Devlin
