FOCUS RULE

WEEK 2

• Expect your chid to say "please" and "thank you".
• Demonstrate respect for others to your children by speaking about others respectfully yourself.
• Greet other parents in the playground with a smile or a friendly "hello".
• Congratulate your child on their achievements and encourage them to do the same for others.

Week 3

• Praise your child when they have achieved progress in their learning.
• Expect your child to learn and try hard at school.
• Expect your child to take turns when speaking and listening.
• Value learning by speaking positively about school and learning.
• Being seen by your child as a learner yourself - talk about new things you have learned.
• Expect your child to do their best at school.

Week 4

• Expect your children to keep their bedroom tidy.
• Give your children a small regular chore to do. Keep a record and reward your children for meeting this responsibility. 
• Expect your children to tidy up after themselves.
• Consider having your children help with the housework.
• Have your children help with setting the table or washing up.
